The Assisted Living Waiver Program (ALWP) for licensed facilities is operated by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and provides government-subsidized board and care to Californians who qualify for Medi-Cal.

Licensed RCFE/ARF facilities must be a DHCS-approved vendor to participate in the program, provide the care and receive reimbursement for 1 of 5 Tiers (Levels of Care) of service provided. As with most government programs, the application process can be complex and meticulously detailed. 

The CompECS team works with the facility licensees/administrators to determine the facility’s eligibility, follow the necessary steps and to prepare & complete the application packet for submission to DHCS.
